Our guest Barnaby Kay has a long family history in acting. His father and grandfather were both in the business. He himself has had a stellar career in theatre, on television and in film as well as radio. Now he is working as an actor, director and writer for Big Finish in both Doctor Who and other productions such as Jeckyll and Hyde, Space 1999 and the newly announced U.F.O.
As we were recording a forthcoming episode of The Sirens of Audio, the news came through that Ncuti Gatwa has been cast as the lead in the next iteration of Doctor Who.
Joe Kraemer has carved out a career in Hollywood for almost three decades, but for us audiophiles he has worked on many Doctor Who and related releases for Big Finish as both composer and sound designer. He has also composed many of the themes from the Big Finish spin of series such as The Robots, Missy and The Paternoster Gang.
Join us as we chat with Joe about his roots in New York, his love of Doctor Who before it was available on video, his move to LA and how he came to be working for Big Finish while creating scores for some of the biggest movie blockbusters of the time.
Welcome to this mini-podcast as we announce a brand new theme arrangement composed and produced for us by Big Finish (and not to mention Hollywood) musician and sound designer, Joe Kraemer.
Joe will be our special guest on the next regular podcast episode.
Then we chat with Mark Wright, producer of The Outlaws. We discuss his career with Big Finish as an actor, writer (along with Cavan Scott) and producer.
This time we are joined by Nigel Fairs, an actor and writer who has been involved with Dr Who related audio productions from the legendary days of Audio Visuals to today with Big Finish.
Not only has Nigel been involved with Doctor Who, he has produced The Tomorrow People, Blake’s 7, Sapphire and Steel and his own original productions such as Shilling and Sixpence and In Conversation With An Acid Bath Murderer.
Join us for a fascinating chat with a fascinating man.
